This Cookie Policy explains how NC Digital Web Design, LLC (“NC Digital,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar browser technologies on our websites, customer and owner portals, and the NC Digital AI Business Assistant (collectively, the “Services”). It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. We may also use local storage, session storage, pixels, software-development tools, and server-side logs. These technologies can remember preferences, maintain an authenticated session, protect a service, measure use, and support analytics or advertising.
2. Technologies used by the Services
The following categories may apply depending on the page and features used.
Strictly necessary
These technologies provide requested features and protect the Services. They may include:
– `nc_client_session`, an HTTP-only secure cookie used to keep an authorized client signed in to the portal for up to 30 days;
– `nc_owner_session`, used to authenticate an authorized owner or administrator;
– security, load-balancing, fraud-prevention, or availability technologies set by our hosting and infrastructure providers; and
– one-time access-token and session records maintained on the server for secure portal access.
Strictly necessary technologies cannot generally be disabled through a consent tool because the requested service would not function without them. You can block them in your browser, but portal and account features may stop working.
Functional browser storage
The AI assistant may use local or session storage to remember:
– the language selected for a particular assistant;
– whether an assistant help prompt has already opened; and
– whether a prompt was dismissed during the browser session.
These items improve the interface and do not by themselves create an advertising profile.
Analytics
Where enabled, analytics technologies help us understand visits, page use, assistant interactions, errors, and performance. Our application also records server-side events such as assistant opens, questions, feedback, conversations, service requests, and usage counts. Server-side records are not necessarily cookies, but they are described in the Privacy Policy because they may contain personal information.
Google Analytics or another analytics provider must be listed here only if it is actually active on the applicable production site. The final published version should identify each provider, purpose, cookie name, and duration.
Advertising and marketing
Advertising pixels or cross-site marketing cookies should be listed here only if they are actually active. NC Digital must not state that it uses targeted advertising unless that functionality has been technically verified. If activated, non-essential marketing technologies must be controlled by any consent and opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law.
3. AI assistant installations on customer websites
When an assistant is installed on a customer’s website, the customer controls that website and its cookie banner. The customer is responsible for describing the assistant and obtaining any consent required for its own site. NC Digital provides information about the assistant technologies so the customer can update its notice and consent configuration.
The assistant can record conversations and usage on the server even when it uses little or no browser storage. Clearing cookies or browser storage therefore does not automatically delete a conversation already submitted. Privacy requests are handled under the Privacy Policy.
4. Your choices
You can delete or block cookies and browser storage through browser settings. You may also use a site’s cookie-preference tool where one is provided. Blocking or deleting strictly necessary technologies may sign you out, prevent secure portal access, or reset assistant preferences.
Where consent is required, non-essential analytics or marketing technologies should remain off until you make a choice. You may withdraw consent through the same preference tool or by clearing the applicable browser data. Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not interpreted uniformly; we will honor legally required browser-based opt-out signals where applicable to our practices.
5. Retention
Cookie and storage duration depends on purpose. Session-storage items ordinarily end when the browser session ends. Local-storage preferences remain until removed by the user or application. The client portal authentication cookie expires after 30 days unless the user logs out or the session is revoked earlier. Provider cookies, if enabled, use the durations disclosed in the final cookie inventory.
6. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when technologies or legal requirements change. The effective date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will receive additional notice where required.
